Bethel needed to win their final game to win the group

Semi Final:
Bethel 1 Bro Enlli 1

Bethel deserved to win this game and were very unfortunate and hit the bar in the final minute so to the dreaded penalties:
Won 2 - 1 (Callum and Ywain scoring)

Bethel 0 Llanberis 0

The game was decided during extra time when a 'golden' goal won it for Llanberis
A great achivement for Bethel, especially the game against Llanberis remembering that 4 of the Bethel boys are in year 5 and the Llanebris team all from year 6. This was a very close game, and with a little luck, the boys could have won as they created several chances against one of the best teams in the area.

Penrhos A 3 Bethel A 4
Scorers: Gethin 3, Callum

A game full of incident. On a day when the weather was poor, both sides played some attacking football. Gethin scored the first from a great free-kick to put Bethel deservedly in front. Bethel then went to sleep and conceded 2 goals within a few minutes. There was an improvement in the second half when Gethin scored to make the score level. Bethel conceded a goal soon after to make it 3-2 to Penrhos. Callum scored a good goal to bring the scores level once again. There was only one team in it with Bethel pressing forward and came close to scoring on several occasions. With a minute to go Gethin scored his scored, a goal that won the game for Bethel. Well done boys, the second half performance was magnificent.

Man of the Match: Gethin (a first rate performance from start to finish and controlled the game - well done)

Thursday 22 September 2011
Bethel A 0 - Llanberis A 2

This was another competitive game and there was nothing to separate the two teams during the first half. Chances were created at both ends and on the day Llanberis emerged victorious by two goals to nil. Both goals were a little unlucky for Bethel. Despite this, the effort from the boys was encouraging remembering that 3 members of the team were from year 5. With continued efforts, the results will come. Due to Sam’s absence, Huw was the goalkeeper and had a great game and therefore Huw was man of the match.

Man of the match: Huw

(Friendly; 1-3 -callum)

Saturday 17 September 2011
Cae Glyn A 2 Bethel A 2

Scorers: Nathan, Hari

The opening game of the season. This was a competitive game from the first whistle with both teams creating a number of chances. Nathan opened the scoring for Bethel following a great move with some great passing before Nathan put the ball in the net to make the score 1-0. Before half time Sam (the Bethel goalkeeper) hit a ball up to Hari on the half way line then Hari went on a great run beating several Cae Glyn defenders before scoring a great goal. 2-0 at the interval. Bethel found playing down the slope difficult in the second half and Cae Glyn scored twice to make the scores equal although Bethel did have a number of chances to win the game. A great team performance and a good start to the season. A number of players stood out but man of the match was:

Owi (solid defensively – and passed the ball out well from defence to instigate a number of attacks. A great performance, well done)

(Friendly result: 1-1 -Owain)

Bontnewydd B 1 - Bethel B 1

Results 2011 - 2012

Wednesday 30 May 2012
Bethel 9 Bontnewydd 1
Scorers: Aaron (3), Shaun (3), Gethin B (2), Jack

Bethel’s last game of the season and the 23rd win. Unusually, and for only the third time this season, Bethel fell behind with Bont scoring with a great strike from distance. 15 minutes had passed by the time Bethel equalised as Dion’s throw in was picked up by Gethin Bryn to run through the Bont defence to score. Aaron then nettled two before half time, the first following a pass from Gruff, and the second seizing on a mistake by the Bont defence. 3-1 HT.

As has happened on several occasions this season, Bethel raised their game in the second half scoring a further six goals without reply. Shaun had a golden period just after half time scoring a hat-trick in quick succession, Gethin Bryn being provider for two of the goals, one from a magnificent free-kick similar to the first game of the season, before Shaun started and finished a move with a pass to Aaron and then was at the end of Aaron’s cross to score. Aaron completed his hat-trick from a pass from Dion before Shaun turned provider for Gethin to score his second.

The last piece of action fell to Jack who’d moved from the defence to score his first of the season in his last game for Bethel with a great strike from distance. Good luck in the future Jack, you will be missed.

Man of the match for his great second half performance was Shaun.

After the final whistle the league trophy was presented to Ciron, Bethel’s captain for the evening. A memorable finish to an unforgettable season.

Saturday 26 May 2012
Gwyrfai Cup Final
Bethel 6 - Bontnewydd 0
Scorers: Aaron (4), Siôn , Dion

Bethel winning the cup and achieving the treble with another great performance. This time it was hot temperatures that faced Bethel in a final, quite a contrast to the last time when a we all had a soaking at Colwyn Bay. Our last visit to Maes Dulyn home of Nantlle Value was in October but we had great weather so we have fond memories of our games there.

Bontnewydd battled hard during the first half, but it was Bethel who went in front controversially. Aaron's shot was destined for the net, but it was handled on the line by a Bont defender and even though the ball hadn't crossed the line, the referee awarded the goal. The common view was that the referee had made the right decision as the alternative would have been a penalty and a sending off. It was Aaron who also scored the second with Siôn and Shaun combining to create the chance. Bont had a great chance to pull one back before half time but the shot went straight to Lee in the goal for Bethel.

Bethel controlled the second half. Bethel's third came following good work by Gethin Parry in the defence for Bethel who released Siôn on the right to beat the defender and cross for Aaron to score. Aaron scored the fourth with a great finish following a pass from Gruff. Bethel finished with two great goals with Siôn scoring with a thunderous shot following a pass from Iwan and then Siôn turned provider for Dion to score with a great strike from distance. Gethin Parry had the honour of lifting the trophy.

Thank you to everyone for their support.

Although there were several notable performances especially Ben in midfield, man of the match for his four goals was Aaron.

Thursday 17 May 2012
Gwyfai league cup semi final
Bethel 8 - Mynydd Llandegai & Deiniolen 0

Scorers: Aaron (3), Iwan (2), Siôn, Gruff, Og

Bethel at their best and controlled the game from start to finish. Bethel went ahead following a great pass from Iwan through to Aaron who ran strongly on to score in the left corner of the goal. The second game following a fine run from Jack and a great pass to Iwan who kept his composure to round the goalkeeper and score. Iwan was in the middle of everything and created another chance for Aaron to net his second. The fourth came with Ben collecting the ball in his own half and carrying the ball into the opposition half before releasing to Gethin Bryn who crossed for Iwan to score his second. 4-0 HT.

Two further goals came soon after the restart with Shaun holding the ball up well and releasing Gethin Parry. Gethin could have gone on himself but choose to cross for Siôn to net. Soon afterwards Hari collected in the ball in the Bethel defence and released Dion whose cross found Gruff to score. Mynydd Deiniolen came back into the game and only an excellent save from Lee denied the opposition. Bethel's 7th came from an own goal created by Aaron and the final goal came from the last move of the game as a combination of Siôn and Dion created Aaron's 3rd.

Man of the match for scoring two and creating two in an excellent first half performance was Iwan.

Sunday 29 April 2012
Congratulations to Bethel under 12's for winning the NWCFA Cup
Bethel 1 - Llandudno 0
Scorer: Og

It was a wet morning that faced Bethel in the final against Llandudno on Colwyn Bay FC's pitch. The opposition started strongly and created several good chances and it was only a combination of the post, the bar and Lee in the goal for Bethel that kept the score at 0-0. When Lee was beaten Hari was in the right spot to clear off the line. As the half went on, Bethel slowly got into the game and with the half time whistle approaching Ifan headed the ball out of the Bethel defence to Aaron who controlled the ball well and released Iwan down the right. Iwan ran strongly into the box and his shot was well saved by the Llandudno keeper, but unfortunately the ball bounced off the Llandudno defender into his own net. 1-0 HT.

Bethel started to control the game at the start of the second half and good chances came to Iwan, Aaron and Gethin Bryn but the Llandudno keeper saved well. Llandudno continued to be a threat and the Bethel defence and Lee needed to be alert to thwart Llandudno on several occasions. It was a huge relief to hear the final whistle.

The Llandudno goalkeeper was adjudicated as overall man of the match and although this was a great effort by the team one stood out for Bethel with several excellent saves and great hands, so the Bethel man of the match was Lee.

Saturday 21 April 2012
Bethel 4 - Nantlle Vale 1
Scorers: Aaron 3, Shaun 1

Bethel were at their best early on and went ahead early following a good pass from Hari out of defence to Shaun, who lifted the ball over the Nantlle defence for Aaron to run onto and lift the ball over the Nantlle keeper. It was a combination of Sion and Shaun who created the second with Aaron once again netting. Bethel and Aaron's 3rd came from a great move started by Siôn, before Isan found Iwan who crossed for Aaron to score. 3-0 HT.

Nantlle started the second half strongly and there were good performances from both sides with both defences playing well. Bethel's 4th came to Shaun following a pass from Dion. Nantlle pulled a goal back as one of the Nantlle forwards broke through the Bethel defence to score a good goal. Another strong performance from Bethel, with Ben in particular playing well in the centre of midfield, but man of the match for his hat-trick goes to Aaron.
Wednesday 18 April 2012
Bethel 4 - Mynydd Llandegai & Deiniolen 1
Scorers: Osian, Aaron 2, Dion

The games between Bethel and Mynydd Llandegai & Deiniolen have all been fiercely contested and this was no exception with Mynydd battling hard and creating several chances and defending stoutly and restricting Bethel to half chances only. It took a great move from Bethel to break the deadlock, with Gethin Bryn splitting the Mynydd defence with a pass for Siôn to run onto and producing a great cross for Osian to score. It was another great pass from Jack that led to the second with Aaron netting Bethel's second. 2-0 HT.

Mynydd game got back into the game at the start of the second half as Bethel conceded a penalty kick with Lee in the goal for Bethel given no chance. Bethel responded immediately with a magnificent goal as Shaun lifted the ball over the Mynydd defence for Iwan to run onto and cross for Aaron to net his second. Bethel's 4th came from another fine move with Siôn releasing Aaron who found Dion to score with a great shot past the goal-keeper.

Man of the Match for his tireless work in the centre of midfield was Gethin Bryn.

Wednesday 4 April 2012
Bethel 4 - Penrhosgarnedd 1
Scorers: Osian (2), Siôn (2)

A game played in difficult conditions with a strong wind. Penrhos elected to play against the wind during the first half and the ball only entered the Bethel half on a few occasions. Although Bethel controlled the game, Penrhos defended excellently and restricted Bethel to few clear cut chances with the Penrhos goal keeper making severeal great saves. Bethel went in front following a great strike from Osain from a pass from Siôn Bullock and there was only a minute left before the interval when Osian scored again following a pass from Gethin Bryn.

There was some concern that a 2-0 interval lead would not be enough with Bethel playing against the wind and up the slope in the second half, but Bethel showed their class by once again controlling the play. The third was scored by Siôn following good hold up play by Aaron before Penrhos pulled a goal back. Aaron also created the fourth with Siôn once again scoring.

Man of the match for his best performance of the season, creating one and scoring two goals was Siôn.

Saturday 31 March 2012
Mynydd Llandegai & Deiniolen 1 - Bethel 5
Scorers: Aaron (2), Shaun, Gethin Bryn, Iwan

Bethel are champions of the Gwyrfai League 2011/2012

This wasn't one of Bethel's better performance but full credit to the opposition for a good performance and they can consider them unlucky to concede 5. Mynydd were the best team for long periods of the first half and deservedly went into the lead. Bethel were somewhat fortuitous to get back onto level terms as Shaun netted following a throw in to Bethel that Mynydd thought should have gone their way. Bethel went in front following a move started by Iwan to release Shaun who crossed for Aaron to score. 2-1 HT.

Slowly Bethel gained the ascendency but Mynydd remained a threat and almost equalised but Lee produced an excellent save. Bethel's goals came in the final quarter with Shaun releasing Ben down the right and his cross found Gethin Bryn who made no mistake. The fourth was scored by Aaron following a pass from Iwan, and Aaron returned the favour for Iwan to net the fifth.

Man of the match for his excellent defensive work, constantly aware of the Mynydd forwards and saving Bethel on several occasions was Jack.

Saturday 17 March 2012
Semi Final North Wales Coast Football Association
Bethel 5 - Nefyn 0
Scorers: OG (2), Osian, Shaun, Iwan

Congratulations to Bethel for reaching the final

dan 12

On a sunny morning with hardly a breeze Bethel produced one of their best performances of the season. As has been the norm recently, the Bethel defence remained solid and restricted Nefyn to only a few half chances. Slowly, Bethel gained the ascendency and created several good chances, but the Nefyn defence and goal keeper defended well. The first goal came following a powerful run from Osian into the box, Aaron got a touch onto the cross before the Nefyn defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net. 1-0 at HT.

Bethel controlled the second half and the second goal came soon after the restart as a Nefyn defender unfortunaetkly diverted the ball past his own goal keeper under pressure from Shaun. The third came shortly afterwards as Sion Bullock received the ball on the right wing and produced a masterfull pass to Iwan who released Osian. Osian ran into the penalty area and kept his nerve to place the ball beyond the goal keeper. Nefyn continued to battle and Lee saved well by diving at the feet of the Nefyn forward to foil one move. Bethel's 4th came from a corner from Ben, Shaun controlled the ball well and struck a shot past the goal keeper. The 5th came just before the end as Aaron found Iwan to stike a powerful shot into the top corner.

There were several notable performances with several standing out, but the Man of the match this week was Osian.

Get well soon Gethin Bryn, hope to see you in a Bethel shirt again before the end of the season.

Saturday 12 March 2012
Bontnewydd 0 - Bethel 6
Scorers: Gethin Bryn (2), Shaun, Gruff, Aaron, Iwan

Bethel's tenth league game of the season. The first half was highly competetive and although Bethel created several good chances the Bontewnydd keeper was in fine form making several excellent saves. Bethel were strong at the back with Jack having a good game at left back. 0-0 HT

Bethel raised their game in the second half with Shaun scoring following a good pass from Ben. Iwan created a great goal for Gethin Bryn, then Gethin created a goal for Gruff. Further goals came as Aaron netted following a pass from Dion before Iwan scored following a pass from Gruff. The final goal came by Gethin Bryn following a great pass from Ben. The performance was significant in that all the goals came through a great all round team effort.

Man of the match was Ben as he not only created two of the goals but also controlled the midfield in the second half.

Saturday 3 March 2012
NWCFA Cup Quarter Final
Bethel 2 - Denbigh 1
Scorers: Shaun, Aaron

A competitive game against a strong Denbigh side. Bethel elected to play against the wind first half and for long periods Denbigh controlled the game. The Denbigh no 7 controlled the midfield and Bethel found it difficult to escape from their own half because of the wind. Denbigh went ahead following a move down the left and when the cross came over it was headed into the corner of the net. Bethel battled hard and made several telling interceptions with Lee making several important saves. 0-1 HT.

The flow of the game changed after the interval as Bethel's passing become more purposeful and accurate. Bethel got back on level terms following a wonderful strike from Shaun from well outside the penalty area that flew over the goal keeper into the back of the net. Bethe's confidence grew and Denbigh started to tire. The winning goal came following a move down the left that allowed Aaron to run onto a ball into the box and beat the keeper. Bethel's defence remained solid and Lee continued to hold onto everything. There was one late moment of concern as a Denbigh attacker burst into the box, but Osian emerged from nowhere to clear the danger. Final score 2-1.

A magnificent performance by everyone with several players standing out, but Man of the Match chosen by the Denbigh manager was Dion. Well Dion, a heroic display at the centre of the defence.

Thanks to Denbigh for a great game and all the best for the remainder of the season.

Saturday 25 February 2012
Llanrug 2 - Bethel 9
Scorers: Aaron (4), Gethin Bryn (3), Gethin Parry, Iwan

Bethel's first game for a month due to holidays and poor weather. Bethel started well with Iwan creating the first goal for Aaron and then turned provider to create a goal for Gethin Bryn. Aaron scored his second following a great cross from Gethin Bryn and then Shaun with a fine header setup Gethin to score his second. Bethel unfortunately conceded an own goal following a free kick from Llarug. Aaron scored Bethel's 5th following a pass from Gruff and then Gruff created a goal for Gethin Bryn. 6-1 HT.

At the start of the second half, Aaron scored his fourth following a pass from Shaun, before Gethin Parry scored his first goal of the season. Llarnug scored a good goal to make it 8-2 before Iwan scored following a great run from his own half.

Man of the Match following a great performance in the centre of the defence was Dion.

Saturday 28 January 2012
Penrhosgarnedd 1 – Bethel 5
Scorers: Iwan (2), Shaun (2), Gruff

Due to illness of two of the players and an injury (get well soon Ben) Bethel had to reorganise. One game had already been played on the field during the morning and the poor weather during the week meant that there were layers of mud in both penalty areas. Despite the conditions Bethel continued to play the passing game and used both flanks to good effect, but when the ball reached the box Bethel couldn’t convert the possession into goals and the ball got stuck in the mud several times. At last, following perseverance, the first goal came from Iwan following good play from Shaun. Soon afterwards the second came with Shaun scoring following a good pass from Gethin. 2-0 HT.

Penrhos started stongly in the second half a when Bethel failed to clear following a free-kick, Penrhos reacted to make it 2-1. Slowly Bethel regained the ascendency and 3 goals came in the final quarter as Penrhos tiered with Gruff scoring after a pass from Hari, and then Aaron created a goal for Iwan and then for Shaun.

An excellent performance by Bethel considering the conditions. Well done Bethel.

Man of the match this week following tireless work in difficult conditions in the centre of midfield both defensively and attack wise was Getnin Bryn.

Saturday 14 January 2012
Bethel 11 Llanrug 0
Scorers: Siôn (2), Aaron (2), Gethin Bryn (2), Ben, Shaun, Hari, Iwan, Dion

Bethel controlled the game with good passing. Once again Bethel stated strongly with goals from Ben, Sion (2), Shaun, Hari and Gethin Bryn with Iwan creating 3 of the goals before half time. In the second half further goals came from Aaron (2), Gethin Bryn, Iwan and Dion. One of Aaron’s goals came from the penalty spot after he was fouled in the box, the first for the team.

Man of the match this week was Iwan for creating 3 of the goals and scoring one himself.

Saturday 7 January 2012
Nantlle Vale 1 – Bethel 6
Scorers: Aaron (3), Iwan (2), Gruff

The first game back after the Christmas break and another good performance from Bethel. Both teams created early chances with good passing and movement, but it was Bethel who went in front following a pass through the defence for Iwan to run onto and score. The second came from Lee, the Bethel goal keeper, throwing the ball out for Dion to carry the ball through the midfield before releasing Gruff to score. Dion was the creator again for the third as his shot was palmed away by the Nantlle keeper and Aaron was on hand to score. 3-0 HT.

Three further goals followed during the second half with Aaron scoring after a pass from Shaun and then scoring his hat-trick following a cross from Ben, before Iwan scored a good goal created by Shaun. Bethel conceded a late goal following a good freekick by Nantlle.

tim dan 12 Man of the match following an excellent defensive performance at left back and several surging attacking runs was Jack.

Saturday 10 December 2011
Cwpan Arfordir Gogledd Cymru
Bethel 14 - Menai Bridge Tigers 0
Scorers: Aaron (6), Shaun (3), Iwan (2), Siôn, OG (2)

It was a relief to see a dry morning following a stormy week. In our last game until after Christmas Bethel played excellently with great passing throughput the team. Bethel started on fire and went ahead after only 2 minutes after a surging run by Jack down the left that was finished neatly at the near post by Aaron. Soon afterwards Shaun made it two and it was three after only 7 minutes when the Menai Bridge defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net following good play by Iwan. Bethel continued to score regularly and it was 9-0 at half time following further goals from Aaron (3) and Iwan (2) and 1 own goal. The great link up play that led to many of the goals was a joy to see.

In the second half Bethel continued to dominate and further goals came from Aaron (2), Shaun (2) and Sion and it was once again great to see the excellent build up play that led to the goals. Man of the match this week was Dion following his best performance in a Bethel shirt who dominated the midfield.

Saturday 3 December 2011
Gwyrfai Cup
Llanrug 1 - Bethel 2
Scorers: Aaron, Dion

Bethel faced Llanrug for the second time in a week, this timein the league cup. Bethel started strongly and went ahead in the first few minutes as Gruff created space in the centre of the midfield and threaded a ball through for Aaron to score. After that Llanrug battled strongly and despite Bethel having several chances the second wouldn't come with Osian in the goal for Llanrug making several good saves. Into the second half and with only 10 minutes left, Bethel conceded a penalty and Llanrug made the score level. Full credit to Bethel, they never gave up and the winning goal came when Siôn took a short corner to Dion who shot precisely into the top corner of the net. Man of the match this week was Aaron.

Saturday 26 November 2011
Llanrug 0 Bethel 9
Scorers: Aaron 2, Gethin Bryn 2, Shaun 2, Osian, Gruff, Iwan

On a windy morning the Bethel lads won away at Llanrug by 9 goals to nil. In the first half Bethel were playing against the wind. Aaron scored the first following good work from Gruff, Aaron also scored the second. Gethin Bryn made it three before the break following a pass from Osian. Llanrug had a few chances during the first half, but the Bethel defence remained solid and Lee had a safe pair of hands in goal. Gethin Bryn scored his second following a pass from Osian and then Ben passed for Shaun to score his second of the game.

Man of the match was Osian

Saturday 12 November 2011
North Wales Coast Cup
Llanrwst 2 - Bethel 3
Scorers: Shaun (2), Iwan

A highly competetive game with both sides creating several chances in the first twenty minutes. Bethel managed to keep the Llanrwst attacks at bay and Lee in the goal for Bethel commanded his box excellently. Bethel went ahead after 25 minutes following a pass into the box by Jack that was dummied by Gruff for Shaun to run onto and score. HT 1-0 to Bethel.

The second half was equally competitive with Llanrwst threatening on several occasions but the Bethel defence and Lee in goal weathered the storm. The second goal came from a corner that wasn't cleared by Llanrwst and Hari passed back to Gethin Bryn who crossed for Shaun to net a powerful header. Llanrwst continued to attack and with less than 10 minutes remaining Bethel conceded a penalty which Aron Hughes netted for Llanrwst. After a nervous period Sion collected the ball in midfield and played a sensational box into the box and Iwan pounced on the loose ball to score. 3-1 to Bethel. There was more to come as Aron scored a good goal for Llanrwst but Bethel managed to hold on to the end of the match.

Congratulations to Bethel and Llanrwst for such a good game and Llanrwst for the warm welcome. Man of the match this week was Lee for his best performance in the Bethel goal so far.

Saturday 5 November 2011
Bethel 3 - Bontnewydd 2

Scorers: Aaron 2, Osian

It was a sunny morning with hardly a breeze and very warm. A very competitive game and the most difficult opponents Bethel have faced this season. Bethel started strongly and pushed Bont into their own half for long periods and the first goal game following a pass out of defence by Ifan to Sion on the edge of the box. Sion passed to Osian in the penalty area who hit a firm shot past the goalkeeper. Bont then came back into the game and created a great chance down the right but Lee in the Bethel goal saved well. A few minutes later Bont had a similar chance when the ball was lifted over the Bethel defence and this time Bont made no mistake. HT 1-1

Bethel started the second half strongly and went ahead following a great moved when Gethin Parry passed to Gethin Bryn on the right who crossed into the box for Aaron to net spectacularly. Once again Bont came back and once again brought the scores level. Bethel showed great character and battled to the end and got their reward when a great cross from Iwan found Aaron to net the winner.

A well deserved result against a talented and competitive team. Man of the match this week for his solid display in the centre of the defence was Ifan.

Bethel 4 - Mynydd Deiniolen 1

Scorers: Dion, Gruff, Gethin Bryn, Aaron

The sun was out, but the wind was strong. Bethel played against the wind during the first half and for long periods Bethel were unable to break clear from their own half, but despite this managed to create several good chances. The first goal came following excellent work down the left by Gruff to release Dion who ran strongly into the box before firing into the corner of the opposition net. Bethel could have extended the lead but the Mynydd Deiniolen defence came to the rescue several times. 1-0 half time.

Bethel started the second half on fire and following perseverance Gruff won the ball on the edge of the box and fired the ball over the goal keeper's head into the net. Gruff was causing the opposition all sorts of problems on the left and minutes later he ran clear into the opponents area and although his shot was well saved by the goal keeper, Gethin Bryn was on hand to follow up and score. Soon afterwards the opposition got back into the match following a ball over the Bethel defence and the Mynydd Deiniolen striker out sprinted the defence before lifting the ball over the keeper. The final goal came when Sion won the ball on the edge of the Bethel defence, release Dion in midfield who passed perfectly for Aaron to run onto and round the keeper to score.

Another highly professional performance with once again many individuals shining, but the man of the match on this occasion was Gruff for his excellent work on the left and for creating two goals and scoring another. Well done Gruff.

Bethel 7 - Penrhosgarnedd 1

Scorers: Shaun Owen (2), Gethin Bryn (2), Aaron, Dion, Ben

The second game of the season on a wet and damp day and a slippery pitch. Bethel started well and went ahead after only 3 minutes when Shaun Owen scored following a great pass from Iwan. The same combination worked again with Iwan passing for Shaun to score the second. There was some great interplay among the team with good passing and movement and Bethel created several changes only to be denied by some good saves by the Penrhos keeper. Half time 2-0.

At the beginning of the second half Aaron scored following a pass from Jack to make it 3-0. From the restart Penrhos gained a goal back to make it 3-1. This inspired the team and Gethin Bryn scored 2 great goals and then some good work from Gruff created a goal for Dion and the final goal came following an excellent solo effort by Ben to make the score 7-1.

On the whole it was a great effort from the whole squad from the goal keeper, through the defence, midfield and forwards. Man of the match this week, and there were several star performances, was Shaun Owen for his 2 goals and all round effort.

Well done lads, keep at it!

Nantlle Vale 0 - Bethel 4

Scorers: Shaun Owen (2), Aaron, Sion Bullock

Bethel started slowly and for the first 10 minutes Nantle were the better side but Bethel's defence held out. Bethel then came more into the game and started to control the midfield and created several chances but were thwarted by the defence and several good saves from the Nantlle goalkeeper. The first goal came from a great cross from Gethin Bryn which was headed firmly into the net from Shaun Owen. 1-0 at half time.

Bethel dominated the second half and the second goal came from a good move which was finished when Ben threaded the ball through the defence for Aaron to run onto and slip the ball past the goalkeeper. The third came following good work from Shaun who released Iwan down the right and when his cross reached the 6 yard box, Sion Bullock made no mistake. Bethel scored the 4th from a free kick awarded for a foul on Jack on the edge of the box following a great run. Dion took the free kick who passed back to Shaun to lift the goal over the wall and into the top corner of the net.

A great performance from all players with many of them shining but the man of the match for his solid defensive and creative play in the midfield was Ben.
