Results 2014 - 2015

Saturday 16 May 2015

The team played in their first competitive tournament on Bangor City's Nantporth pitch and played exteremely well. They achieved four out of four wins in the group.

Below are the results and scorers.
2-1 v Llanrug (Liam a Llyr)
5-0 v Penrhos (Iestyn (2), Liam, Llyr, o.g.)
2-0 v Porthaethwy (Iestyn, Llyr)
3-1 v Cae Glyn (Liam (3))

As the group winners, Bethel faced Cae Glyn's other team. Bethel started slowly with Cae Glyn scoring twice early on. Despite a series of corners and shot after shot Bethel failed to breach the defence and the scored finished 2-0 to Cae Glyn. However, a great day for the team.

Bethel B vs Llanrug

Llanrug visited Bethel to compete in the derby match. The Bethel team was again passing well and despite conceding early they responded strongly and improved as the game progressed, creating serveral chances. Two goals from Llyr and another from Liam clinched a deserved win.
In the second game, Llanrug again gained an early lead and although Bethel finished the strongest with a deserved goal from Gruff, the visitors held on to the win. Another solid performance from Bethel.

Friday 1 May 2015/ Sunday 3 May 2015
Nantlle Vale vs Bethel B

A longish trip to Penygroes battling the Bank Holiday traffic was the first game this month. This was one of the best displays of the season with excellent passing and everyone supporting each other on the field. The training ground moves were in evidence as Bethel gained a deserved win. The scorers were Gruff, Nia, Liam, Iestyn and Llyr

The team returned to Penygroes on the following Sunday to compete in a tournament on CPD Nantlle Vale's pitch. Unfortunately, it was fairly dismal weather compared to Friday;s sunshine. The team played 7 games with two wins and 1 draw among the resuts. The scorers were, Iestyn (3), Llyr (2) a Jac. Feet up after a busy weekend.

Saturday 18 April 2015
Felinheli vs Bethel B

We were welcome by the sun on the short trip to Felinheli this week. There was a feeling of great pride by the coaches today as everyone in the team contributed by passing and using the ball extremely well. I hope that this is as a result of the training sessions, but it is more likely a result of watching Barcelona in Champions League and trying to emulate them!!

Felinheli, influenced by one player , took the lead early in the game but with a thrilling goal by Iestyn Bethel came back into the game. Further goals were scored by Iestyn and Liam , and while Gary Neville's stats showed Bethel in absolute control in the second half, the game finished with Felinheli victorious by a singe goal. The outstanding team performance bodes well for next season. Keep at it!!

Although there were no training or official matches during the Easter break the team has participated in two competitions during the period . No time to relax for the players !

The first competition was one that the team had attended before, namely the 3G Football Festival at Bangor, this time on Good Friday. There were six games with two wins and one draw game. Next up was a competition organized by the Gwyrfai league at the Oval , Caernarfon on Saturday , April 11. There were games against two teams from Cae Glyn and Nantlle Vale . The team managed two wins during the competitive and close games during the day. Scorers - Liam ( 3 ) and Llyr ( 1 ).

A great effort from everyone who represented the club during the two tournaments. Well done !!

Saturday 14 March 2015
Bethel B vs Llandwrog

One of the best teams in the league welcome Bethel this week. The application and confidence of the team has improved tremendously over the course of the season and this was apparent as Bethel notched a deserved win. Liam had an outstanding debut with a handful of goals. Nia also contributed to the cause. Well done to all!! How about a run of wins between now and the end of the season? Some challenge!!

Friday 20 February 2015

The team played in the second festival of football on Bangor's 3G pitch on Friday 20 February. The team played 5 games in total against some of the strongest teams in the league and there were some exceptional performances by the players in all the games.

Bethel won one of their games, there was one draw and the other games were narrow defeats with the 2-1 defeat to Llanrug and 2-0 against Maes y Bryn examples of these. This demonstrated Bethel's improvement over the season remembering the one sided games against Maes y Bryn in the second game last September.

Iestyn scored a hat trick in one of the games with Nia contributing in another.

Saturday 7 February 2015
Bethel B v Cae Glyn B

Although this wasn't an official fixture on the list, the coaches decided to provdie an extra challenge and invited Cae Glyn for a "friendly". It was very competitive during the first half with Llyr dominating the play from the back and Nia battling like a terrier in midfield. However, it was Cae Glyn who scored first and then frequently without reply until Iestyn scored Bethel's only goal. That's 9 goals in 15 games for Iestyn.

Saturday 17 January 2015
Bethel B vs Cae Glyn B

Revenge is sweet so the saying goes and that's what happened the following morning as Cae Glyn visited Bethel to avenge their loss on Bangor's 3G pitch. Together with a smaller squad than normal and the previous night's effort the team were not at their best as they lost to Cae Glyn with Iestyn being the only scorer for Bethel on that Saturday.

Friday 16 January 2015

The team accepted an invitation to participate in a festival of football on Bangor's 3G pitch on Friday, January 16. A number of the league's teams took part and Bethel played 5 games against Cae Glyn, Felinheli, Llandwrog, Llanrug A and Llanrug B. Everyone played with energy and commitment even during the last game at 7:45!

Bethel won 2 of their games, lost 2 and there was one drawn game. Iestyn scored two (and almost scored from a goal kick), Gruff scored two and Llyr one. There was also an exceptional assist from Josh to defeat Cae Glyn! Well done everyone.

Saturday 13 December 2014
Llanrug vs Bethel B

The year came to an end with Bethel attempting to tame the tigers in the local derby. The team were playing their first game in their new kit. Thanks to 'Folks Garage, Bangor' (Graham) and 'Siop Barbwr, Pwllheli' (Graham) for sponsoring the new kit. The players weren't scared of soling the new kit with everyone working tirelessly. The first game was close with Llanrug winning 2-0. Iestyn scored in the second game but the cold freezing weather didn't agree with the players and Llanrug scored constantly. Player of the match was Nia.

With the mid winter break upon us, here are the statistics for the first part of the season.

Saturday 6 December 2014
Bethel B vs Nantlle Vale

Illness meant that several of the squad were unavailable this week for a close competitive game against Nantlle Vale. The differences between the sides was one quick player for the opposition. In a game of many chances, but few goals, Nantlle Vale won with Jack scoring the only goal for Bethel. Due to the commitment of the whole team the player of the game is shared between everyone.

Saturday 29 November 2014
Llanberis v Bethel B

A positive start once again with Bethel going ahead with a goal by Iestyn. Bethel scored two further goals by Llyr and Iestyn, but similar to the Rugby team, the opposition scored with the last kick of the game to claim a draw. Jack was player of the match with his commitment obvious as he had the reddest face at the final whistle!

Saturday 22 November 2014
Bethel B v Felinheli

The sun welcomed the team (and managers) in their new hoodies with a home game against Felinheli. The team conceded an early goal and then held firm against a side containing one of the best players in the league. Although Felinheli scored regularly the team stuck to their task and were rewarded near the end with a good goal by Llyr. Gruff was nominated as player of the game by the Felinheli manager.

Saturday 8 November 2014
Bethel B v Seintiau Bangor

A positive start to the game with Iestyn scoring a great goal for Bethel. Unfortunately heavy rain effected the team's sty;e and the opposition from the City scored regularly to win the game. In general, the performance by Bethel was very satisfactory. Llyr was player of the match for a save reminiscent of Gordon Banks!!

Saturday 1 November 2014
Bethel B v Llandwrog

Following a week's break, the thoughts of the players were still on the beaches of Tenerife as we lost to Llandwrog! The opposition passed the ball well throughout but Bethel fought valiantly and the player(s) of the match was shared by Llyr and Nia for a triangle pass and move straight from the training ground during the second half. A week's hard training before an improved performance next week.
P.S. The managers have decided to ban holidays of any kind for the rest of the season!!

Saturday 11 October 2014
Bethel 7B vs Waunfarwr

A win for the team!! It was a wet start for the first competitive game at home with home advantage proving crucial. The first goal for the season for the year 1 team was Sion Lewis. The sun came out just as the ball crossed the line. Bethel's other scorers were Nia, Jac and Iestyn. For scoring Bethel's 1st goal of the season, player of the game was Sion Lewis

September 20 v Maes y Glyn (A)
Another defeat for the team, but the performance improving as the game went on. Bethel scored as well, even thought it was an own-goal. The best player was shared between Iestyn for his defensive efforts and Nia for her strong tackling and running skills.

September 13 v Cae Glyn (A)
The first game to the team and a baptism of fire as the saying goes. No goals for Bethel and a few/too many to Cae Glyn. Despite this, everyone got stuck in with plenty of enthusiasm. Bethel's star player was Llyr Elwyn. Well done, keep at it and we look forward to congratulating the first scorer in the next match!

Nantlle Vale Tournament

This was the second tournament of the season for us, and having lost out on the semi on goal different, the boys wanted to do better this time!!

Bethel finished second in the group stages, winning 3, butt losing to Cae Glyn Du.

The semi was against a team who we hadn’t beaten before, Cae Glyn Coch and the boys were very nervous!! But they won 1-0 to go through to the final!!

It was Cae Glyn Du in the final!!
It was a great game with end to end football but it finished 0-0 after extra time.

Penalty shoot out!! Both teams missed 2 of the first 5 and it went to sudden death. Corey scored for us and Cae Glyn missed!! We won the shoot-our 4-3. Very proud of the boys for playing so well throughout the tournament.

Wednesday 29 April 2015
Bethel 4-2 Nantlle Vale 29/4/15

Scorers: Morgan Davies 2, Morgan Jones, Codey

The lads clearly enjoy playing in the evening, it means they have time to wake up properly!! They continued to pass and communicate well with each other throughout the game!! It was a difficult game. with firm tackles from both teams, but the team came out on top!!

Wednesday 29 April 2015
Cae Glyn Du 3-2 Bethel

There is something about playing the cofis with our young team. It was a slow first half against Cae Glyn Du last night, with the boys forgetting how to defend for the first 10 minutes!! After a little word at half time the second half was vastly improved and the boys came back into the game!! We were unlucky in the end with the score finishing 3-2.

Saturday 18 April 2015
Bethel 6-1 Llandwrog

Scorers: Morgan Davies 3, Morgan Jones 2, O.g

Played very well against Llandwrog. Excellent passing and movement from the boys.

Wednesday 16 April 2015.
Bethel 1-2 Cae Glyn Coch

Scorer: Morgan Jones.

A tough game for the boys against one of the strongest Under 9B teams. Bethel played very well and went ahead before Cae Glyn scored from a corner to make it 1-1. Then with a minute to Cae Glyn managed to score a winner!!

Thursday 2 April 2015
Segontiwm 1 - Bethel 5

Scorers: Morgan Jones 3, Morgan Davies 2

The weather put a stop to our game last Saturday against Segontiwm, but had a chance to catch up tonight.
The hard work put in passing practice during training paid off on the field tonight!! Bethel scored three excellent goals with good passing and movement!! Lets' hope the good performances are carried into the Gwyrfai tournament next week!!

Saturday 14 March 2015
Bethel 5 Penrhos 2

Scorers: Morgan Davies 2, Morgan Jones, Codey, Kieron

Some excellent football again this weekend against a strong Penrhos side. The boys played as a team, with good passing and a willingness to help each other.

Saturday 7 March 2015
Seintiau Bangor 2 Bethel 5

Gwyrfai League Cup Final
Saturday 10 May 2015

Bethel 5 Penrhosgarnedd 0

On paper this was to be a very hard fought final with who I believe to be just about the best team we've went against this season. Also, the team that's taken most points this term I believe.

However, the opposition (as well as us) had a couple missing and it proved decisive as Bethel romped to victory.  Nevertheless, with all due respect if Gareth Bale had lined up against our boys today we would have won!! A brilliant football performance was capped by super goals from Super Cai and (who else) Celt 'Marvellous' Moss. But this time the goal scoring headlines were snatched by our very classy player Louis 'George Best' Guest!! A well deserved hatrick for a real talent! There were great performances all over the pitch, notably Bedwyr 'The Rock' Jones and Gwion 'the wing wizard' Griffith.

It's nice to note that EVERY player in the squad was on the field today at one time or another and EVERY single player played their part in securing success for this very talented team.

A final note to thank my Captain Fantastic, Ioan Ifans and Merfyn and Rich for all their hard work and support during the season.
Well done all from a very proud manager!!

League Cup Semi Final
Bethel 3 Cae Glyn 2

A very impressive performance by Bethel to beat a very solid footballing side in Cae Glyn.
The game was more or less won in the first half with Bethel playing some great football. Passing it about with verve and zest yet keeping it tight with a very good performance by our midfield general, Ifan 'Solid' Stead.

However, it was our deadly striker, Celt 'marvelous' Moss who grabs the headlines with an awsome hatrick. Surely the scond goal is a candidate for goal of the season! Turning with his back to goal and firing into the top corner from 25 yards (anyone remember Tony Yeboah!!).

Well done boys. The final awaits...

Bont 4 Bethel 6

Another very windy day and another game affected badly by it. Bethel found themselves 4-1 down at the break battling against the conditions. However, with the wind helping in the 2nd half, a stunning comeback heralded 5 goals for the away side without reply. Some very attractive football played for the well deserved victory.

Bethel secured 2nd spot in the league.

Bethel 5 Mynydd Tigers 6

A windy day and a very tough game with the hurricane in Bethel playing a huge part! The home side 5-2 up with 20 minutes to play threw it away with some errant defending. However, Bethel played well for long periods, better luck next time!

Bethel 5 Llanrug 3

Thats better!

A very accomplished display by the Bethel boys. Some very good play on display today with quality, passing football and sharp movement especially on the wings, with Wing Wizards Gwion Griffiths (players' MOTM) and Charlie Williams (Managers Co-MOTM) wrecking havoc on the away defence. These 2 certainly have very bright futures for themselves in the game.

Bethel raced into a 5-1 lead with goals from Charlie (2), Gwion, Celt and Ifan (i think, let me know if Im wrong boys!)

A special mention to the first goal which was a clinical assist by Gwion (took 3 players out the game and cut the defence in half) followed by a cool, volleyed finish by Charlie that Premiere League strikers would be proud of. The third was a strike (and then some!) by our 'midfield general' Ifan Stead! From about 25 yards, he unleashed an unstoppable effort that hit the top corner stanchion like a rocket!

As Bethel's passing play went into hibernation halfway through the 2nd half (may that be a warning!) Llanrug Utd came back on the counter and Bethel were caught out by a mixture of complacency and a little greed as a few players found themselves too forward on occasions.

Final result 5-3. A deserved victory abd Bethel finally back on the winning bandwagon!

Cae Glyn 6 Bethel 2

If there was a flattering scoreline, this is it, even though on the whole a deserved victory for the home side.  Having said that, for the majority of the game, the better football was on show from the away team with some intricate passing in midfield and lightning counter attacks. Cai Llwyd and Louis Guest combining especially well on the right hand side with Cai slotting in very well in a slightly unaccustomed roll at right back.

Bethel found themselves 1-0 down at half time after dominating scoring opportunities in the first half. Some very fine saves from the Cae Glyn goalkeeper (who had a very good game) and some errant finishing from Bethel leading to the deficit.

However, midway through the second half the score was 2-2, goals from Celt Moss and Cai Llwyd who was moved to a more offensive position. Wing wizard, Gwion Griffiths (who is having a tremendous first season in Bethel colours) shaved the post with a thunderous drive to make it 3-2 as Bethel was slowly coming out on top.

A missed back pass by the referee then led to Cae Glyn scoring on the counter attack. The scoreline then quickly became 4-2 with a thunderous strike from long range. A fine goal.

Wholesale changes were then made by the away side to get some fresh legs on the pitch, but that was not to work as the final score was 6-2.

A special mention to our goalkeeper on the day, Sion Arfon, who was deputising for our regular Goalie, Dylan 'dramatic saves' Evans. Sion gave 110% on the day and deserves much credit.

A win's around the corner we hope, not the best start to 2015 after a brilliant end to 2014

Bethel 2 Penrhos 3

First game after the festive break and Bethel U12s were suffering from an unexpected Christmas hangover! Playing well in patches, Bethel unfortunately didn't have enough in their yuletide stocking to beat a very good Penrhos side. In my opinion the best footballing side to visit Coed Bolyn as yet this year.

Even though Celt Moss was on the scoresheet again this time with a brace, it wasn't enough as their dangerman, Mohammed raced free very late in injury time to set up the winner. A draw would have been a fairer result but fair play to Penrhos who took their chances well to take all the points.

Talking about Christmas, I now know what to buy my assistant coach who refereed the match next Christmas, a new watch!! ;-)

Saturday 22 November 2014
Llanrug 0 v Bethel 2
1st round League Cup

Scorer: Celt Moss

The winning streak keeps rolling in for the U12's!

Another very hard game at Nant Glyn with Llanrug once again very sporting hosts. Brilliant performances all over the pitch including a very solid performance at the back by the defensive unit, especially Sion Davies, giving us our first clean sheet of the season. Our imperious midfield won the battle today with another very impressive performance by Gwion Griffiths in an unusual left-wing position. Our goals came by our now prolific forward Celt Moss who's having an outstanding season so far, converted from a tenacious midfielder to a deadly striker. He's now 9 goals in 6 games and scored in everyone (Brendan Rodgers may be calling the Moss household before long!!). Now through to the semi-finals. A cup may well be heading to Bethel this year if the teams form continues!

Saturday 15 November 2014
Mynydd Tigers 1 Bethel 3

Scorers: Charlie Williams, Celt Moss 2

Another away game for the boys this time against a very hard Tigers team. A war of attrition in very wet conditions made for a tough game but the boys played some great, expansive football with some quality passing on a heavy pitch. With some combative tackling from the opposition the boys coped well and got a lot of joy on the wings with two outstanding performances by our wing wizards Gwion Griffiths and Charlie Williams. Louis Guest also combined well from midfield with Gwion. A goal by Charlie and a brace from Celt was enough to secure an extremely hard fought victory for the team.

Its fantastic for all concerned with the team that we can go into the new year unbeaten with 4 wins and a draw.

Saturday 8 November 2014
Llanrug 1 - Bethel 2

Scorers: Ifan Stead, Celt Moss

A local derby versus Llanrug was always going to be a tight affair and so it proved to be. Our powerhouse midfielder, Ifan Stead gave us the early lead with a thunderous strike from the edge of the box and then our in-form striker, Celt Moss made it two. Llanrug played well and pulled one back which made for another nervy ending. However, the introduction of Morgan Evans to bolster the defence reverting to a back four proved worthwhile and Bethel hung on to a hard fought victory. Well done!

Saturday 18 October 2014
Bethel 3 - Cae Glyn 1

Scorers: Celt Moss, Ifan Stead

Our third match of the season in the Gwyrfai League produced Bethel's finest performance of the season so far. A windy day isn't conducive for quality football but it didn't deter Bethel from playing some very attractive football. Passing the ball very well between each other to carve out quite a few goalscoring chances.

3-1 was the final score between Bethel and a spirited Cae Glyn side who will undoubtedly be winning quite a few matches this year. Celt Moss, who adapted well to a strikers role, scored 2 goals and Ifan Stead who was deployed in a more defensive midfield role today scored a screamer from a long way was the other goalscorer.

Two wins and a draw so far this season, great start boys!!

Saturday 4 October 2014
Bethel 2 - Bontnewydd 1

Scorers: Louis Guest, Celt Moss

The first home game of the season for Bethel who welcomed Bontnewydd.

It was a very tough game with Bethel victorious by 2 goals to 1. One of the new additions to the team, Louis Guest scored the first goal. It was a great goal with good passing from the midfield which finished with a powerful strike to the bottom of the goal. The second came before half time with Celt Moss benefiting from a mix-up in the Bont to tap in for his second of the season.

Bontnewydd scored their goal mid way through the second half, but Bethel fortunately Bethel kept at it with solid defending and a strong performance once again by the Bethel goal keeper, Dylan Evans.

The players choose Bedwyr as man of the match and I choose Charlie for his hard work and commitment on the left wing.

One win and one draw is a good start to the season. Well done boys!

Saturday 27 September 2014
Penrhosgarnedd 2 - Bethel 2
Scorers: Gwion Griffiths, Celt Moss

The first game of the season today away at Penrhosgarnedd. There were a number of new faces this season who joined last seasons under 11's, and who played very well together.

The game finished all square 2-2. Bethel did exceptionally well to come back having gone behind twice in the match. Gwion Griffiths, one of the new additions team scored first and the second went to Celt Moss following good individual work to create a chance for himself.

Everyone played very well, particurlalry Dylan Evans the goalkeeper, with several fantastic saves. The Bethel captain Ioan Evans, chose Ifan Stead as man of the match today.

A satisfactory start for the team, and it bodes well for the season if the players continue to develop together as a team.

Results 2014 - 2015

Friday 9 May 2015
Bontnewydd 5 - Bethel  B 1

Scorer: Gethin

The last game of the season on a miserable eveing in the rain. Bethel played well during the first half and created several chances, but Bont's keeper was in fine form, producing several excellent saves. It was Bont who went in front and it stayed that way until half time.

The second half started badly for Bethel as Bont scored from a free kick and then from a long range effort. Bethel did respond as Gethin scored from a corner by Jestin, but it was short lived as Bont responded immediately and it finished 5-1.

Despite loosing on the evening, it has been a fantastic season for the boys in their first year at under 16 level.

Monday 27 April 2015
(Gwyrfai League Cup Final)
Cae Glyn 3 - Bethel B 1 (After extra time)

Scorer: Aaron

Bethel had the privilege of playing at the Oval and performed exceptionally well. It was Bethel who went in front when Aaron headed past the keeper following a free kick from Jestin.  Bethel kept the lead until moments before half time as Cae Glyn responded following a debatable corner.

Both teams had chances in the second half with Lee making some outstanding saves but the score remained at 1-1.

Unfortunately, tiredness got the better of Bethel and Cae Glyn scored twice in extra time, but full credit to Bethel for a strong performance against a very good side.

Man of the match was Gethin

Felinheli 3 - Bethel B 8

Scorers: Jestin 2, Dion 2, Aaron 2, Iwan, Rhun

The game was played at the home of Bethesda and a warm evening. The field suited Bethel who started strongly by creating several chances. Bethel went in front when Gethin played the ball out of defence to Gruff who found Jestin on the right. Jestin made a determined run before hitting a tremendous shot to beat the keeper. Bethel continued to press and the second came as Osian played the ball short from a corner to Gruff to cross for Dion to score. Jestin scored the third following a corner from Gruff. Felin then came back into the game following a free kick, but Bethel extended their lead before the break as a strong run from Dion presented a simple chance for Iwan to score.

HT 4-1

Bethel continued to play some excellent football with Dion and Kieran combining to allow Aaron to score. It was Aaron again who scored the next with Ifan playing the ball from the back to Dion to play Aaron through on goal. It was Kieran who played the ball to Run to score the 7th to receive the biggest cheers of the night. It was Dion's turn to score the 8th with Ben the creator. As Bethel tired, Felin came back into the game to score twice before the end.

Man of the match was Dion

Soon after the restart Llanllyfni came back into the game. Bethel responded positively and following perseverance from Jestin Llan conceded an own goal. Saturday 14 March 2015
Bethel B 4 - Llanrug 0

Scorer: Jestin 3, Aaron

After having the pleasure of playing on Bangor's 3G pitch the previous weekend, it was back to grass this week and the playing conditions made it harder to match the excellent passing of the previous week. It was a lovely morning and a very competitive game with Llanrug defending firmly and creating some chances of their own. It was Bethel who were creating the better chances and Aaron was unlucky to hit the post. The game was approaching half time when Bethel went ahead from a great strike from distance by Jestin.

Bethel had experimented with a new formation in the first half but it was back to the tried and tested in the second half with Bethel looking more resilient. The second came mid way through the half with Aaron netting from a pass from Gruff. Llanrug had several free kicks but each one went wide or were well held by Lee. With the game approaching it's conclusion Jestin scored twice, the first created by Iwan and the second by Siônbut the score did not reflect how difficult a game it was.

Man of the match was shared between Ifan and Jestin

Saturday 7 March 2015
Felinheli 0 - Bethel B 12

Scorers: Aaron 4, Dion 3, Iwan 2, Gruff, Gethin, Sion

The game was played on Bangor's 3G pitch at Nantporth which was a good thing following the heavy rain during the week. Bethel enjoyed playing on the surface with Bethel producing the best performance of the season with excellent passing and movement from the first to the last. Bethel had the benefit of the elements in the first half and this proved an advantage.

Dion scored the first with a great strike with his weaker foot following a pass from Gruff from the right. Aaron then scored two, the first created by Gruff and the second by Dion. Dion then scored himself, created by Aaron. It was then Iwan's turn to get on the scoresheet with two gaols, the first with Kieran's help and the second a solo effort. Before the break, Aaron netted for his fourth.

HT 8 - 0

It was more difficult second half playing against the elements. Gethin scored following a good corner from Osian, then Gruff scored following a fine move, with the final ball played by Iwan. Sion then scored from a penalty after Osian was fouled. The final goal went to Dion following a pass from Aaron.

Saturday 7 February 2015
Bethel B 3 - Llanllyfni 0

Scorers: Dion, Aaron, Jestin

Bethel started strongly and went ahead soon into the game with Kieran combining with Aaron to create a chance for Dion to score. Bethel unfortunately suffered a couple of injuries which effected the team pattern and the home side failed to extend their advantage.

Llanllyfni were threatning in the second half and created several chances but Lee was a rock in the Bethel goal with his defence helping with several clearances. It seemed only a matter of time before Bethel conceded but against the run of play Bethel fashioned a move down the right wing with Dion releasing Jestin to cross for Aaron to score. Llanllyfni continued to press, but there was to be a 3rd goal for Bethel with Aaron creating for Jestin to score.

Man of the match for several excellent saves was Lee.

Saturday 31 January 2015
Bethel B 3 - Cae Glyn 2

Scorers: Aaron (3)

An exceptional performance from each member of the squad from start to finish. It was a very entertaining game for the neutral but full of tension for the supporters with great football and acomplished passing from both teams. There was little between the teams during the first half with Ben coming close with a shot that was cleared off the line but then came two goals in quick succession for Bethel with Dion integral to both, initially creating for Aaron to score and then combing with Ben soon afterwards for Aaron to score his second. The score remained 2-0 to Bethel until half time.

Cae Glyn came out strongly in the second half and scored soon after the restart to make it 2-1. Bethel were under pressure but remained resolute with a combination of strong defending and some fine saves from Lee. With 10 minutes remaining Dion played the ball to Jestin on the right wing who passed to Aaron to score his hat-trick. Cae Gkyn again came back and scored their second with 4 minutes left but Bethel held on for a notable win.

Although there were several excellent performances, man of the match for scoring 3 was Aaron.

Osian scored for the B's following a pass from Jestin, but with Bethel B pressing a further goal was conceded and the game finished 5-3.

Although Bethel conceded 5, there were a good performance from Lee making several excellent saves but man of the match for Bethel B was Ifan.

Saturday 29 November 2014
Gwyrfai League Cup
Bethel A 1 - Bethel B 4

Scorer (Bethel B): Aaron 4

A beautiful morning with a strong sun meant that sunglasses were required and no coat! For once the Bethel pitch wasn't covered in water.

It was the A's who started the stronger and for the first 10-15 minutes it was the A's that controlled the game and it wasn't a surprise when they went ahead when the B's failed to clear a corner and one of the A's midfield players ran onto a pass behind the defense to slot home. Bethel B responded positively and as has happened several times this season, Bethel began to assert their mark with Jestin making several strong runs down the right. The B's struck twice before half tie with the same combination both times, Jestin the creator and Aaron the scorer.

Half time: Bethel A 1 - Bethel B 2

The second half performance was better still with the defence solid and giving no room for the Bethel A forwards. Bethel B created several chances, but a combination of of the woodwork and Rhys in the goal thwarted the B's. With around 15 minutes left, the B's went further ahead when Gruff created for Aaron to score and then with only seconds remaining, a long goal kick from Lee was pounced on by Aaron to score his 4th.

The Bethel defence for an excellent display as a unit were men of the match!

Saturday 22 November 2014
Llanrug 0 - Bethel A 9

Scorers: Jestin 2, Rhun 2, Ciron, Ben, Osian, Aaron, Gruff

It was a dry and sunny morning and it was a short journey that faced us against our local rivals. The result was pleasing for several reasons.
1. An excellent and hardworking performance
2. Four players scoring their first goals of the season for the club
3. The first time that Bethel B didn’t conceded a goal this season

Bethel stated nervously and although creating a few chances, the Llanrug keeper wasn’t troubled. Gruff was having some success down the left wing and it was from one of these runs that Bethel scored. Gruff’s pass found Ben and although his shot was charged down it came to Ciron the right back and his thunderous shout beat the keeper. Llanrug pressed and but for a good save from Lee would have equalised. As the half progressed Bethel began to dominate and a good second goal came from an initial pass from Aaron to Dion and through to Jestin for his first. It was Jestin who created the next with a great corner for Gruff to head home.

HT Llanrug 0 – Bethel 3

Bethel controlled the second half and Jestin scored his second after receiving the ball from Dion which was initially started from a throw in by Ryan. Dion was controlling the central midfield area and crossed superbly for Rhun to score his first goal for Bethel. It was Rhun who scored the next created by Jetsin and it was Aaron’s turn to score the 7th after a quick throw from Osian. Then, following a corner that Llanrug failed to clear, Dion passed to Ben to score with a good strike from distance. The final goal came following good link up play between Jestin and Dion to free up Osian to score superbly with his left foot.

Man of the match was Jestin.

Bethel B 0 - Aztec Stars 9

Bethel's run came to an end against a strong team who will surely be among the favourites to left the trophy.

Saturday 8 November 2014
Bethel 6 - Penrhosgarnedd 1
Scorers: Aaron 3, Iwan 2, Osian

A wet morning faced us and although the pitch was heavy it was good enough to play. Bethel controlled the first half with Dion making several strong runs. The first goal came following a period of pressure with the final ball from Jestin for Aaron to score from 6 yards. Bethel continued to press with Dion playing the ball to Jestin on the right side who played it through for Aaron to score his second. Jestin continued to create several chances with his strong run and the 3rd came following another good pass down the wing for Jestin to cross for Aaron to score. Bethel made a few changes and the 4th came following a pass from Dion for Iwan to control and beat the defenders and keeper. Although Penrhos had several free kicks, the Bethel defence remained resolute.

Half time: Bethel 4 - Penrhos 0

The 5th game following a quick move down the right, with Osian playing the final ball for Iwan to run onto strongly and strike past the Penrhos keeper. Following the goal, and with Bethel having made several changes due to injury and illness, Penrhos came back into the game and scored to make it 5-1. But, it was Bethel who had the last word with quick incisive passing leading to Aaron passing to Osian to score with his left foot.

Man of the match for a battling dispay throughout the match and for being ready to play in unfamiliar positions was Harri.

Saturday 25th October 2014
2ail Rownd Cwpan Arfordir Gogledd Cymru
Rhyl Panthers 3 - Bethel B 6

Scorers: Aaron 3, Iwan 2, Gethin

A visit to Rhyl faced the team in the second round of the cup. Although Bethel started a little cagey with the Panthers unlucky to hit the bar, Bethel totally dominated the first half. The first goal came following a corner from Jestin and a good header from Iwan. It was Iwan who also scored the second with a good finish following a fine move with Gruff providing the following pass. Gethin scored the third, this time from a corner by Osian and there was time for Bethel to score a fourth following the best move of the match starting from the bck, Gruff carring the ball well and Aaron scoring.

Half time: Rhyl Panthers 0 - Bethel B 4

Bethel continued to play football of the highest quality and scored a 5th soon after the restart when Iwan pulled the ball back from the bye-line for Aaron to score his second. Panthers then came strongly back into the game with the Panthers scoring their first from a quick throw in and good finish and soon after got a second. Bethel were under a little pressure with the post, cross bar and some last ditch clearances saving Bethel. Following a period of pressure, the Panthers scored their 3rd. Full credit to the team, Bethel responded well and scored a 6th when Aaron netted following a good ball from the back by Ryan.

One of the best performances of the season, especially for the first 50 minutes. Several players had good games, but man of the match for Bethel was Gruff.

Saturday 4th October 2014
1st round North Wales Coast FA Cup
Bontnewydd 2 - Bethel B 4
Scorers: Aaron 3, Dion

Bethel were playing the same opponents as the previous weekend, but this time away in the cup. A tremendous performance by the whole squad and defensively solid. The first half was fairly even with both sides creating chances. The first goal came following a good build up from the back with Osian beating the keeper from distance, but the ball coming back off the cross bar to Dion to score.

HT: Bontnewydd 0 - Bethel B 1

Bethel were the better side in the second half and the second came following a cross from the right from Aaron to Gruff to beat his man and cross for Aaron to head over the keeper. The score remained at 2-0 for a period before two goals in quick succesion, with Aaron scoring his second when the keeper failed to hold onto Dion's shot and then completing his hat-trick following a great ball from the wing by Ben following another good build up. Bethel conceded two late goals as the lads tired.

Special thanks to Harri for going into goal at short notice.

Man of the match for scoring three goals was Aaron.

Saturday 27th September 2014
Bethel B 3 - Bontnewydd 5
Scorers: Dion, Aaron, og

Bethel started brightly and were comfortable against a good Bontnewydd team for the first 15 minutes. Jestin managed to break clear with a strong run before being brought down in the box. As a result Dion netted for Bethel. This galvanised Bont who got back on lefel terms when Bethel failed to clear. Bont were the stronger team for the remainder of the half and scored a second from the penalty spot following a handball in the box.

HT Bethel B 1 - Bontnewydd 2

Bethel competed well in the second half, with Dion a giant in the centre of midfield and Aaron scored a fantastic goal to bring the scores level. Less than a minute later Bont scored from a corner, with an easy header with nobody marking. Bont dominated following the goal and scored two further goals, but Bethel didn't give up and a third goal came to Bethel after a Bont player put the ball into his own net.

On the whole, a good performance against a strong team, but there is room for improvement particularly the need to defend as a team.

Man of the match for an outstanding performance in the centre of midfield was Dion

Saturday 20th September 2014
Bethel A 3 Bethel B 6

Scorers (Bethel B) : Aaron 3, Jestin 2, Osian

Bethel B were playing their second game within 48 hours with both teams missing key players due to sickness and unavailability.

Bethel B once again started slowly and it was the A’s who had the best of the early play with a couple of early chances. The B’s responded and went ahead on 11 minutes when Jestin lached onto a pass from Dion to calmly slot home. The second came two minutes later when a great move down the left involving several players came to Osian to place the ball calmly into the net. The next goal went to the A’s when a mistake in the defence allowed the A’s to score from 6 yards. Bethel responded with a good finish by Aaron following a quick throw in from Osian. The next goal went to the A’s following a corner that the B’s failed to clear and was slotted into the roof of the net. There was more to come with Dion playing in Jestin who went on a great solo run and finished deftly with his left foot. The B’s once again failed to hold onto their 2 goal lead when Gwion was allowed to run through the defence from the kick off to float a cross into the six yard box to make it 3-4.

HT Bethel A 3 - Bethel B 4

Bethel B dominated much of the second half and were much more solid in defence although both teams had good chances. The came was only settled in the last 10 minutes with good link up play between Osian and Sion putting Aaron through to score and then a good free kick from Ryan allowing Aaron to head over the keeper.

FT Bethel A - Bethel B 6

Some notable performances particularly the all round team effort in the second half, but the man of the match for his commitment to every tackle was Gruff.

Thursday 18 September 2014
Bethel B 5 - Felinheli 2

Scorers: Dion 2, Jestin 2, Aaron

Bethel B were appearing in their first competitive match of the season having had two competitive friendlies against Llanfairpwll and Llanrwst. The season promises to be a challenging one as they are up against several teams with 2nd year under 16 players.

The game was played at Bethel on a warm September evening. Bethel, unfortunately missing a couple of players due to a bug, started slowly and came under early pressure with the Feliheli players quicker to the ball. Bethel slowly came into the game and created a few early chances which the Felinheli defence managed to thwart. Both sides created a few half chances. The breakthrough came following a great through ball by Osian to Aaron who's effort came back off the keeper to Dion 30 yards out who calmly lifted the ball into the empty net. Bethel had a few further chances and went close on a couple of occasions.

HT 1-0

Bethel came out strongly in the second half and scored a second following a great corner from Osian which was headed in by Aaron. Bethel were slightly hesitant in defence and Felin came back into the game following indecision which allowed their striker to score and make it 2-1. Bethel responded strongly and the next goal came from a great solo effort by Jestin down the right hand side. The 4th came from a half volley by Dion following a corner from Osian and the 5th a fine run through on goal by Jestin following a through ball. The final goal of the evening went to Felin.

FT Bethel 5 – Felinheli 2

A great start with some excellent football played. Man of the match for dominating in the centre of midfield and scoring 2 good goals was Dion.
