Match report – October 27 v Penrhos (A)The first snow of the winter had covered the mountains and it was cold (especially for the coach standing on the side of the pitch). It was a repeat of the previous week with both teams equal. A single goal to Penrhos separated the sides in the 1st period before Penrhos scored 4 times. In this period Llyr and Josh hit the post with Jack also close to scoring. In the final quarter Bethel again hit the post but the deserved goal did not come. |
Match report – October 20 v Maes y Bryn (A)It was a close game at Maesgeirchen this morning although this wasn’t reflected in the scoreline. Both sides had an equal amount of chances and an equal amount of shots on target but while Maes y Bryns seemed to go in, Bethel’s did the reverse. Bethel responded in the final quarter and deserved their two goals from Iestyn. Sion was man of the match defending resolutely on the left and instigating our attacks. The game finished 7-2 to Maes y Bryn, but they were clearly unhappy with conceding as their post match handshakes weren’t enthusiastic. We look forward to welcoming them to Bethel after Christmas. |
Match report – October 13 v Cae Glyn (H)A scoreless game today against Cae Glyn ….. we can honestly say that today’s winder was storm Callum!! |
Match report – October 6 v Llanrug (A)The first game of October was a local derby against Llanrug. The poor mid week weather had been replaced by a nice Saturday morning. Unfortunately a player shortage mean we only had 7 and therefore had to play without any subs and everyone had to work hard. Once again one of our former players lined up against us but we started strongly with a quick attacking threat and it was Bethel who went ahead when Gruff scored after a number of chances for Bethel. The Llanrug keeper often kept them in the game but the goals came regularly and Bethel ran out 7-2 winner with Josh contributing a hat-trick. Well done!! |
Match report – September 29 v Nantlle Vale (H)The first official game of the season was organised against one of the strongest sides in the league in their age. Nantlle Vale also had two former Bethel players amongst their ranks. Bethel started full of energy and deservedly went ahead. Although Nantlle Vale pressed they didn’t threaten Bethe’s goal with Nia marshalling the defence. Through regular changes to give everyone fair game time Nantlle Vale got on top and scored three times. Bethel then got a grip on the game and after Llŷr had hit the post, Bethel deservedly scored twice with a thunderous free-kick from Iestyn brining the scores level at 3-3 at full time. |
Match report – September 22 v Penrhos (A)It was the same result this week with Penrhos being unable to fulfil the fixture. A hastly arrange friendly was held away at Llanfairfechan so we could apply the training ground sessions. From the first whistle the team played effectively and quickly learnt each other’s strengths. Bethel won the game scoring a number of goals and conceding just the one. Well done! |
Match report - September 15 v Talysarn (H) Unfortunately, we were unable to play what should have been the first game of the season. Carry on with training! |

Bethel B levelled the scores at the start of the second half and thereafter the game was even and was won by a magnificent goal from almost half way by Adam.
